Family Law
Relationship breakdowns are becoming increasingly common with over half of all couples separating or divorcing.
We appreciate that it is a stressful and emotional time and give a sensitive service with realistic advice on the likely outcome and the costs involved.
We give clear, understandable advice and information on the procedure involved.
We stress the importance of parties trying to resolve issues between them wherever possible supported with practical legal advice. This is particularly important where children are involved as parents will have to continue to work together for the rest of the children's lives.
This approach not only often gives a better solution but is also a considerable cost saving which is extremely important where assets are limited to the family home, some modest savings and pension as they often are.
When it is not possible for the parties to resolve the issues without court proceedings we have many years experience in preparing and dealing with Court applications and hearings.
We adhere to the code of practice of Resolution (previously the Solicitors Family Law Association) and are accredited specialists of Resolution/SFLA and members of the Law Society's Family Law Panel.
We offer a fixed fee interview for the first meeting.
We advise on
- Divorce
- Separation
- Maintenance for spouses and children
- Financial settlements
- Contact and Residence of children
- Property rights and Property disputes
- Cohabitation Disputes
- Cohabitation and Pre-nuptial agreements
We also offer mediation
